History of National Socialism in Linz and Upper Austria

Validity: January 20th to December 12th 2025

This special program is intended for young people aged 14 and over who want to deal with Upper Austrian contemporary history.

Program:

Day 1:

The memorial site Hartheim Castle was a Euthanasia Center during World War II where more than 30,000 people were killed. By means of a guided tour through the memorial adolescents may deal intensively with National Socialism and living with a handicap.

Day 2:

In a guided tour you will see all the sights of Linz. The Highlight-Tour provides an overview of the Ars Electronica Center´s top attractions.

Day 3:

Tour through the voestalpine contemporary museum. The forced labourers of the former Reichswerke Hermann Göring (today voest alpine), their fates and life histories are in focus of the exhibit.

Services:

  • 2 nights in a shared room with shower / toilet

* plus approx. € 4,80 local taxes for teachers and plus tickets for public transport as well as the trip to Alkoven: pupil approx. € 12,- and teacher approx. € 22,-. Prices and programme are subject to change.
